Introduction
In the event of a serious fire, fire doors are one of the most important components in ensuring safe exit, containing the fire and saving lives. But they can be rendered useless by not using the correct components including intumescent strip. Gaps around the four sides of a fire door leaf are essential,it is the only way the door can open and close. But these gaps create a point of weakness, where fire can take hold and destroy the door, and lethal smoke can pass through. RESSA intumescent strip works by sealing around the edges and gaps of a fire door in the event of a fire.
The RPB series flexible intumescent seal strip is made from an unique chemical formulation based upon expandable graphite material. It offers a qualities of high expansion foam with a firm pressure to provide the full range of 7 to 30 times expansion ratio. The flexible nature of the material permits it to be used for many applications where a rigid strip would be impractical such as tight corners, pipes or tubes.
Application
- Sealing gaps for gun safes and fire safes
- Sealing gaps for wooden and steel fire doors
- Sealing gaps for door hinges, door closer and viewers
- Sealing gaps for fire windows and glass curtain
- Sealing gaps between elements of construction
- Penetration sealing into walls
Adhesive backing
RPB uses high-performance grid type double-sided tape for easy peel-n-stick application. The tape is strong and approved suitable for different surface spray designs of fireproof safe and file cabinet.
